GoodBye 2009!

2009 was the year of knowledge and gadgets for me. I learned a lot this year – astrophysics, algorithms, web designing, typography, 3D modeling, PHP, jQuery, Python and the most important – Time Management!
I came across some awesome blogs and websites which were so influential that they completely revolutionized my thinking and my working style. The biggest revelation for me this year was StackOverflow. Within a short span of time, I learned so much from StackOverflow that it surpassed my prior knowledge of programming. StackOverflow is like a genie – the only difference is that instead of rubbing a lamp, you click your mouse. I got huge help from StackOverflow while I was developing this blog. I am still a baby on StackOverflow with a meager 150 points, but I hope to contribute more to the community in coming years.
I also gained a lot of knowledge about web designing and typography this year. I really owe this blog to the web design community. All those wonderful articles on CSS, jQuery and design methods always kept me going and they are still helping me in designing and developing my future pet projects. I must not forget twitter when it comes to learning and sharing knowledge. I opened my twitter account this year and I can confidentially say that it was not a mistake. I came across some awesome people on twitter who are always willing to share new things with the world. Till date, I have 870 tweets and I think this number will grow exponentially in 2010.
This was an equally good year for gizmos and gadgets. In 2001, I got my first PC which had 64 MB RAM, 20GB Hard Disk and Windows Me as the operating system. In 2009, I have a new Dell PC with 4GB RAM and 500 GB Hard Disk which tri-boots into Windows XP, Windows 7 and Ubuntu. I also got my HTC Touch HD and Wacom Graphic Tablet this year. I am looking forward for a new MacBook Pro and Nexus One in 2010. ;)
What's coming up in 2010?
Now that I have the right tools and techniques with me, it’s time to have some action. I have two big projects coming up in early 2010. I am also going to redesign this blog and will shift to Wordpress. A new magazine is also on the cards, which would be launched in mid 2010. I am also looking forward to submit some Wordpress themes on Envato marketplace. So, a lot to do in 2010! I am quite excited about it and I think it’s going to be a wonderful year.
I created this minimalist wallpaper to get more hopeful and excited about 2010.Annus Mirabilis means a wonderful year or year of wonders. I believe that 2010 would be a great year for me; you can also believe the same! Knowledge when combined with creativity can do wonders; hence I included those two strings to signify knowledge and creativity.
